Tees Valley Screen and NFM Academy High End TV Panel Event

The TV industry in the UK is booming, with high-end dramas like The Crown, His Dark Materials and Outlander filming up and down the country (including the North East)! At the same time, some of the most exciting new dramas making waves internationally, like Netflix’s Sex Education and End of the F***ing World, are originating in the UK.
Our High End TV panel event invites leading industry speakers to share their own experiences and insight, discussing:
- Job roles and career paths in high end TV drama
- Personal stories – how they progressed, highs and lows, career highlights
- How to develop your own ideas for scripted television
- Working with producers and commissioners – pitching to the likes of ITV, C4 & Netflix
- The current climate for TV production in the UK
Our first confirmed panellist is director Lewis Arnold. Lewis began his TV career directing episodes of the BAFTA-winning Misfits for C4 and Russel T Davies’ Banana for E4. In 2015 he directed two episodes of C4/AMC series Humans, C4’s most successful original drama in over 20 years, as well as an episode of Broadchurch for Sister Pictures.
In 2017/18 Lewis directed Cleaning Up for ITV and Sister Pictures and starring Sheridan Smith, having developed the project with writer and creator Mark Marlow. He also directed Dark Money, a four-part drama for the BBC and The Forge.
Lewis has just wrapped filming on ITV’s upcoming miniseries Des, starring David Tennant as Dennis Nilsen, a project he developed with writer Luke Neal.
