SIZZLE is a package of SME support for a new regional cluster of indies, producers and SMEs working together to boost the region’s broadcast comedy sector.

Phase #1 of SIZZLE runs from January 6th to March 31st 2021. Eleven company leaders will form a new North East Comedy Hot House Comedy Cluster through the LEP’s Peer to Peer network. Designed to support emerging producers to think Global, build thier knowledge, regional and national connections.
Insights from leading broadcast figures so far include Dawn McCarthy-Simpson MBE, Pact, Tom Brislee, Arrow Media, Kate Beale, Woodcut Media, Creative England and Walli Ullah MBE, EMU.
We’re teaming up with ambitious individuals keen to grow their business and play their part in driving forward the region’s production of quality comedy content across digital platforms. A passion for comedy is super important.
All of these ambitious individuals are based in the North East LEP area, which covers County Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside, and Sunderland for this opportunity.
North East Comedy Hot House have teamed up with Tiger Aspect to uncover the best scripted comedy development and producing talent in the region.
