This April, Northern Film + Media and University of Sunderland will host a further two seminars for the creative and screen industries community as part of the ‘In Conversation with Lord Puttnam‘ series, supported by Pinewood Studios.
Friday 23rd April sees one of the UK’s busiest film producers, Iain Smith (The Killing Fields, Mad Max: Fury Road, Spy Game), join Lord Puttnam to discuss The Great British Skills Shortage. The seminar will focus on areas for growth across the industry, including the development of the next generation for jobs in the industry. This seminar will be of particular importance to those interested in and/or working behind the scenes. Register for your free tickets via eventbrite.
These two seminars follow on from the first two held in March with Lee Hall (Billy Elliot) and David Parfitt (The Father) which were well attended.
‘In Conversation with Lord Puttnam’ is a series of six seminars with some of the industry’s finest. The final two seminars, scheduled for May, will feature John Battsek (Searching for Sugar Man, Manhunt: The Story Of The Hunt For Bin Laden) and Ridley Scott (Black Hawk Down, Gladiator, Thelma and Louise). Booking for these seminars will open in early April.
