Blueprint Artists to showcase their work at MIMA’s Art + Social

Posted on 4th April 2022

The five artists that were part of our Arts Council and Tees Valley Combined Authority supported BLUEPRINT Artist Film Lab project will be showcasing their films at a special screening as part of the Art + Social event being held at MIMA Art Gallery on Tuesday 5th April.

In a special edition of Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art’s Art + Social programme on Tuesday 5th April, they’re presenting new work from the five Tees Valley based artists who have formed our Blueprint Artist Film Lab.

The artists have strong creative practices with some experience of film, but artist moving image is new to all the artists involved. The cohort have received support from artists and arts professionals to develop new work through this programme.

Art + Social is a testing ground for new and emerging talent from students of School of Arts & Industries and Tees Valley creatives. You’ll have the opportunity to see pop-up displays of unseen work, experimental performances, get involved in making workshops and chat to artists about their latest projects. There’s also tasty food and drink on offer from the MIMA Kitchen.

Blueprint Artist Film Lab is an Arts Council England and Tees Valley Combined Authority funded project delivered by Northern Film and Media/Tees Valley Screen in partnership with MIMA, The Auxiliary, The Living Archive, FLAMIN and ARC.

This event is free to attend but booking is essential.
