Join bespoke sessions by homegrown talent in the Tees Valley Screen community each exploring their own areas of expertise in the screen industries – including building a film business, social content and monetisation, and a closer look at the acting profession.
#4: From Script to Screen – Developing Short Film Ideas with Andy Berriman, Tuesday 7th July, 10:30am-12pm
Filmmakers who are embarking on their first funded short film are invited to join this interactive roundtable with Andy Berriman. Andy will share his insight into short filmmaking and give tailored advice on how to get your first funded short film off the ground.
Roundtable participants will discuss their script ideas with Andy and the rest of the small group and discuss how to make it appealing to funders. To apply to be on the roundtable, please email tvs@nfmarchive.northeastscreen.org by midday Monday 29th June along with:
- A completed SME Eligibility Form
- A short biography
- Either a 500-word written synopsis of your short film idea or a video or audio recording of your synopsis of no more than 3 minutes
Applicants must be based within the Tees Valley and have a home or workplace postcode within Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool, Redcar and Cleveland, or Darlington. You can check your postcode here: https://www.gov.uk/find-local-council.
If successful, you will discuss your short film idea with Andy and the rest of the roundtable in a digital Zoom webinar format and will be visible & audible to a wider viewing audience. This will take place 10:30-12:00 on Tuesday 7th July and you must be available to join the session for the full duration, as well as be able to appear and speak onscreen.
